ROOTED: Reflective prompts for decolonizing assessment

This deck of reflective prompts was inspired by our second podcast episode titled “Decolonizing assessment through ânisininiwak epistemologies and ontologies” with:

  • Dr. Burcu Yaman Ntelioglou, Associate Professor, Faculty of Education, Brandon University.

and

  • Bev Fontaine, Elder Stanley Wilson, Sylvia Lathlin-Scott, Priscilla Constant & Janna Personius, Opaskwayak Educational Services, Opaskwayak Cree Nation.

In this episode we welcomed the community, educators and researchers of the Joe A. Ross School in Opaskwayak Cree Nation to discuss decolonizing assessment through ânisininiwak epistemologies and ontologies.

We suggest using this deck of reflective prompts in conjunction with our podcast and accompanying sketchnote as a resource for a collective professional learning conversation, workshop, class, or as an individual professional learning opportunity.
